Education law

We can help and advise on various aspects relating to Education Law including School Admission Appeals and School Exclusions.

You have the right to appeal the refusal to admit your child into a school of your choice.  This includes Maintained, Academy, Free and Boarding Schools from the Reception Year to Sixth Form.  We can assist you in drafting the grounds of appeal in accordance with the School Admissions and Appeals Code and represent you at the hearing.

If your child has been permanently excluded from school by the headteacher his or her decision is initially considered by a panel of governors.  If the governors uphold the decision of the head you can apply for the decision to exclude to be reviewed by an independent panel convened by the Local Authority in which the school is located.  We can assist you drafting your case to put to the governors and review panel in accordance with the School Exclusions Regulations and Guidance and represent you at any hearings.
